Who Let The Zorilla Out Of The Cage?

Well the twins really got smoked this past series, I don't even really want to talk about them. They are quite infuriating at this time!

On the bright side I have Ben Zobrist on my fantasy team, and it really seems like the Twins found a way to get him fired up, and I hope it carries on way past this series.

He was 8/14 with 6 runs, 3 doubles, 2 homers, a triple, 13 RBI, and a stolen base. He knocked in or scored 17 of the Rays' 29 runs scored in the series, which seems just insane. He would be leading the Twins in RBI from just those 3 games, and would be tied for the lead in Home Runs too. And on the season he has

He raised his Average from .203 to .258 in just 3 games over the course of 3 days.

It is a great time for Zobrist to be heating up. Evan Longoria should be returning to the lineup for the Rays some time next week, which would take some of the pressure of Zobrist to keep carrying the team. Also getting Longoria back will be huge for my fantasy baseball team too...

If Zobrist can put together another year like he had back in 2009, he will once again have been a steal in many fantasy drafts. I think he will be able to provide decent power numbers as well as steals the rest of the year, definitely a guy I specifically targeted in my draft.

Of course you can't assume he will be able to keep up the numbers he has put up this week, he could score 90, with 90 RBI, 20-25 home runs, and 15-25 stolen bases. I am not saying he will do all of those things, but on my team, he is my 4th outfielder and 2nd 2nd baseman, a great guy for my utility slot.

Of course he will not put up number like this in every series, but he has countered hit slow start with a monster week.

He doesn't have the legend behing him like Sam Fuld, but I think he is another guy that makes it easy to cheer for the Rays.

Legend has it Sam Fuld once hit a 2-run home run to lead off the game........

I will have to talk about Sam Fuld another time haha.

Thanks for stopping by.
